EXPERT'S EXPLANATION
This dog has a compressive lesion at T13-L1 that is very evident on the myelogram. This is an extradural mass and might be a tumor or a type II disk. Given the breed and other vertebral lesions, type II disk disease is most likely. Another important differential in this case is degenerative myelopathy, a progressive demyelinating disease of German shepherds and shepherd cross breeds.
