This dog has Type I cervical disk disease. Note narrowed intervertebral spaces at C2-C3 and C3-C4. Because of the severe cervical pain, meningitis would be a good differential. Where does the pain come from in disc disease or meningitis? You should have recognized UMN signs to all limbs with no other signs of brainstem disease.
