The photograph on the left is the kidney of an ox. Compare this with the photograph on the right. These represent considerably different diseases and I want you to ponder them.

• What differences do you see in the kidneys?
• What differences would you expect to see in the bladder content (urine) of these two animals?

Keys - pink or red staining of kidney.

• Check color of urine
• check for anemia.
• If positive, you are dealing with intravascular hemolytic disease.
