This photograph is of a rabbit. Its liver is on the left, its colon to the right; there are lesions in each place. Start with the liver. That lesion is obvious. Its distribution types are....... and the colon seems to me to be at least distended. It may look a bit as if the content is watery and there are yellow patches visible through the gut wall.
I would like you to assume that this rabbit has a colitis along with the liver lesion. This represents a disease that is not too uncommon in rodents.
Multifocal hepatic necrosis tells you a lot about cause....INFECTION!!!
A variety of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and a few viruses might cause. The colitis helps.
This is a case of Tyzzer's disease. What is the etiologic agent?
