Case 4

This photograph is of a lamb, probably a feeder lamb that lived in a pen with 120 others. This particular lamb was sick for three days with neurological signs but during that time, eight of his penmates died very acutely. They did not have this lesion but they did have a lesion resembling that of a previous photograph in this series.

• What do you see here?
• Is it unilateral or bilateral?
• Is it symmetrical or asymmetric?
• What are some diseases that might cause such a lesion under the circumstances that we have given?
• Might you see corroborative lesions of one disease in other organs of this or other sheep in this group?
