This photograph is a piece of liver. Perhaps the most important issue in this case is to appreciate the zonal nature of this lesion.
It would help you in your encounter with this exercise if you could imagine that you did this necropsy out in the boonies with the owner of this calf or that dog or whoever.
Zonal lesions of liver are usually caused by metabolic or toxic factors and a few infections. So....clinically you would include an enquiry into possible toxic exposure.
